This session builds on the previous principle of letting go of things that do not change. The next key concept is to "Know it by the fruit." Here, "fruit" can refer to thoughts, ideas, or behaviors that emerged due to a specific situation or relationship. To assess this, refer back to the sheet with two columns you created in the last session. Review the items you listed and ask yourself:

  • What are the outcomes of your financial decisions?
  • How are your current thoughts and mental state affecting you?
  • Are your thoughts and behaviors leading to productivity or

causing stress, anxiety, or even depression? Answering these questions, along with the ones from the previous session, will bring clarity to what is productive and what needs to be terminated. This session is about identifying and confronting nonproductive areas. If you notice that certain things on your list have negative fruit, it is time to consider weeding them out. Start with the top 3 to 5 items that emotionally and spiritually drain you.

Ask yourself: “What has been the result of this?” If the fruit isn’t healthy or productive, then it may be time to change that behavior or let go of that influence. Closure and termination are not the end but rather opportunities to move forward. Do not fear these processes, but instead, use wisdom to know and remove unproductive influences in your life.
